Kristina & Randy

Here's a break from seniors :) Kristina and Randy are getting married in December. We did their engagement session at the beach. This was a great couple to work with and it is going to be one of the most fabulous weddings I've done! I can't wait!

We did a few different things at this session. Randy I hope this second one is what you had in mind. And the third one was for me, an idea I wanted to try with a new processing technique, let me know what you think good or bad about that style . . .

More Senior Models

Add Samantha and Jeannette to the list of DQP Senior Models. They came in today for their promotional headshots. I had a tough time deciding which one to showcase here so I'm putting two.

Baby Ryan

Today was a busy day! Preschool pictures this morning, senior models early afternoon then this photo session. This beautiful baby had grandparents visiting from Hong Kong! You can see how happy he is that Grandpa is holding him! More pics to come later!

Senior Season is Here!

We had our Senior Jam Session last night and it was a hit! We have lots of new products for the Class of 2007. Stop by the studio sometime to check them out. Anyway, we had 15 seniors sign up to be Models for us this year. These models earn prizes and products based on their referrals.

So I'll be introducing our 2007 Senior Models as they come in for their promotional headshots.

Happy Birthday!

I had two birthday sessions this week. I love looking back at my kids birthday portraits to see how much they change in one year. And of course it's so fun to see when my Baby's First Year customers have their first birthday and graduate from the plan. Most of them I've seen every 3 months since they were born and putting the birthday collage or book together is neat to see how they change.

Anyways, here's Mayela, celebrating her first birthday today! Happy Birthday Mayela!

And here is MY baby, Jenna. She turned 4 this week and we went around town for her birthday session. You can tell a photographers kid by the way they like to pose themselves. Happy birthday Jenna!

September is Family Month at Donna Quarles Photography

We are providing special studio family sessions the month of September . Trying out a new, different style of family portraiture. This will be a black on black, black & white only type session. These are intimate yet fun portraits of parents interacting with their children. We are recommending dark solid clothing (black, brown, navy) to keep the focus on the faces and expression versus what you are wearing or what background we've used.

I'll be posting a few sample images in the next week so you get a feel for them. These are going to be real attention getters if you want to get away from the Traditional family portraits.

Angleton ISD Appreciation

I went to the Chamber luncheon yesterday to hear about the innovative new programs at our jr. high and high school campuses. Let me tell you, we really seem to have an administration that is focused on helping our kids get the most from their education. My oldest daughter is only in 2nd grade but I was so excited and pumped up about the new Angleton University and Friday Night Live programs! I just feel like it's such a positive way to encourage good behavior and study habits that I want to show my appreciation to the faculty and administration.

From today thru August 31, if you work for the school district, we want to give you a free family portrait session (or if you just want a session for your children that's fine too). The session can be booked for anytime before December 31, but call today thru the end of August to schedule it and we wil give you a complimentary session fee to show our support. It's Back to School Time!

I hope everyone had a great Frist Day of school today. We are starting out the school year with some specials!

SENIORS - Call in the month of August to book your senior portrait session and get HALF OFF the session fee. We have some GREAT new products and ideas for you this year! And as a reminder, you don't have to buy graduation invitations from the school. Who wants the same invitations as everyone else? We custom design our invitations to fit your personality. This year we offer our standard 5x7 one sided cards, but we are also offering folded cards! Stop by the studio sometime to see them, as well as our other products.

Also, if you are a Spring athlete (ie baseball, softball etc) - get your senior portraits made in the fall before your schedule gets too busy. We had several people try to get appointments in the spring and run out of appointments. So get yours done early!

Babies, Babies, Everywhere!!

I've taken so many maternity and newborn sessions lately! I so wish I was a photographer when I was pregnant or when mine were newborns... I can't get those times back ever and I regret that a chain studio (won't name names) was the only documentation I have of them. I only had 6 choices of images IF we could get them to cooperate long enough to get that many shots.

My clients generally have 20-40 images to choose from and sometimes it might take us 1.5-2 hours to get it, but we work until we get the best shots.

Here's a newborn from today. Baby Katy and older brother David. Both were precious :)

Congratulations Autumn & Jake!

My cousin Autumn got married last weekend and I was able to photograph the special day! And have a new cousin-in-law now. It was great getting to see my family that I haven't seen in a while and catch up with everyone.

And here are all the girls, they are all my cousins except the one in the middle. She's the Groom's-Brother's-Girlfriend if you follow that :) Aren't they pretty?
